SPEAR Staff 22-23
peer counseling vision
The Peer Counseling Component will cultivate and sustain proactive, critically engaged individuals who confidently seek academic and holistic growth upon conscious reflection of their own identity. Counselors will challenge students through an empowering relationship while identifying and analyzing relevant student trends through the scope of academic, holistic, and cultural lenses to obtain 100% retention through a multifaceted, integrative approach. Students will actualize personal goals and civic engagement while working towards postgraduate intentions.
what is a peer counselor?
SPEAR's peer counselors are trained to support and guide other students toward academic empowerment and holistic development. Counselors help students actualize their personal and academic goals while guiding them to the resources necessary in order to work toward their postgraduate intentions.
